This study uses hospital and public welfare as keywords to search for public welfare literature of public hospitals in three Chinese databases(the CNKI database, VIP database and WANFANG database), and uses NoteExpress 3.0 to manage the literature. Then, we analyze the years, journals and fund grants of the inclusion literatures. At the same time, we using Excel’s own word frequency analysis tool to analyze the public welfare meaning of public hospitals in order to understand the development process of public welfare research in public hospitals in China and to reasonably define the public welfare connotation of public hospitals, and put forward some suggestions to promote the return of public hospitals to public welfare.
