Abstract:Objective: To investigatethe clinical efficacy, adverse effects, recurrence rate ,and the quality of life of patients diagnosed with papules-pustular rosacea following the treatment of the traditional method of using hydroxychloroquine and doxycycline hydrochloride and 15% azelaic acid combined with hydroxychloroquine and doxycycline hydrochloride.Method: A total of 102 patients diagnosed with rosacea were randomly divided into two groups. The traditional treatment group was treated with oral hydroxychloroquine and doxycycline hydrochloride for 12 weeks, and the combined treatment group was treated with 15% azelaic acid gel for 12 weeks on the basis of traditional simple treatment, and then the two groups Comprehensive clinical evaluation is carried out on the life of quality, treatment efficacy, clinical manifestations, and adverse reactions. Finally, continue to observe for 12 weeks to evaluate the recurrence rate. Results: After 12 weeks of treatment, the effective rate of the traditional treatment group was 70.37%, and the effective rate of the azelaic acid treatment group was 91.67%. There was a significant difference between the two groups (P=0.0069<0.05). In terms of quality of life, the difference between the two groups of patients after treatment and before and after treatment were statistically different (P<0.05). In terms of recurrence rate, the recurrence rate in the azelaic acid treatment group was 8.33%; the recurrence rate in the traditional treatment group was 24.07%,There was significant difference between the two groups (P=0.0332<0.05).Conclusion: 15% of azelaic acid combined with hydroxychloroquine and doxycycline hydrochloride is safe, effective, and has a low recurrence rate in the treatment of papules-pustular rosacea. It can significantly improve the quality of life of patients. It is a safe and effective treatment for papules-pustular rosacea. Keywords:: Rosacea; Azelaic acid; Doxycycline; hydroxychloroquine.
