    Abstract:

Objective:To explore the therapeutic effects of ganciclovir combined with gamma globulin and early intervention on neonatal cytomegalovirus infection(CMVI)-induced brain injury. Methods:Ninety-seven cases with CMVI brain injury were divided into 2 groups. Forty-four cases received gonciclovir combined with gamma globulin and early intervention(group A) and 53 cases received no therapy(group B). Thirty normal full term infants(group C) served as control. There was no significant difference between group A and B in ordinary conditions(P > 0.05). Results:Body length, weight, head circumference, mental developmont index(MDI) and psychomotor development index(PDI) in group A were higher than those in group B(P < 0.05). Retardation of movement, audition and language disability of group A were lower than those of group B respectively(P < 0.05). Conclusion:Ganciclovir combined with gamma globulin and early intervention can improve the prognosis of CMVI-induced brain injury in infants.
