    Abstract:

Objective:To evaluate the effects of superfusion of ethanol or ethanol plus dexamethasone on corticostriatal long-term potentiation(LTP) in rat striatum in vitro. Methods:Extracellular field potential recording method was used in the study. Results:Ethanol could enhance the amplitude of LTP,while dexamethasone could reverse the impact induced by ethanol partly. Conclusion:The inebriant dose ethanol could enhance the amplitude of corticostriatal LTP through the way of activating immediate early gene.
