    Abstract:

Objective:To explore the characteristic of the expression of survivin gene in cervical cancer and study the clinical singnificance of survivin gene. Methods:Reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) and immunohistochemical SP method were used to determine the expression of survivin gene in 64 cervical cancer tissues, 17 CIN cervical tissues and 14 normal cervical tissues. The relationship between the expression and clinical pathology was analyzed. Results:The expression of survivin mRNA level had significant difference between normal cervical tissues and cervical cancer, and the expression of survivin had correlation with histological grades(P < 0.05). The positive rate of survivin gene in cervical cancer was singnificantly higher than that in CIN and normal cervical tissues(P < 0.05). The expression of survivin in cervical cancer was associated with clinical stage and tumor grade. Conclusion:The increasing positive expression of survivin gene might be closely related to the oneset of cervical cancer and could be a new diagnostic target in cervical cancer.
