Abstract:Objective:To estimate whether A670G polymorphism at position-670 in the gene coding for Fas(gene symbol TNFRSF6) is associated with pre-eclampsia. Methods:By means of polymerase Chain Reaction and Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism,A670G polymorphism at position -670 in the Fas(TNFRSF6) gene was detected in 140 women with pre-eclampsia(75 with mild pre-eclampsia and 65 with severe pre-eclampsia) and 170 normal control women with uncomplicated pregnancy. Investigators were blinded to clinical outcomes. Results:G Allele frequency in pre-eclampsia group were significantly higher than those in control group(56.4% vs 36.2%)(P < 0.001). G Allele frequency in severe pre-eclampsia group were significantly higher than those in mild pre-eclampsia group(64.6% vs 49.3%)(P = 0.010). Conclusion:The G Allele of Fas(TNFRSF6) gene might be a risk genetic marker of pre-eclampsia. In patients with pre-eclampsia,there is the association between G Allele of Fas(TNFRSF6) gene and severity of pre-eclampsia.
