Abstract:Objective:To analyze the rate of HIV infection among drug users from Jiangsu in 2005~2008, understand the status of HIV infection and risk factors among drug users,and evaluate the effect of intervention on drug users. Methods:The data of surveillance among drug users in Jiangsu during 2005~2008 were analyzed by SPSS11.5. Results:Total of 7739 drug users were detected for HIV and HCV and the infection rate of HIV and HCV was 0.7% and 34.04%, respectively. The trend of injection rate among drug users was down from 2005 to 2008 and had significant difference that in(P < 0.01). The rate of HIV infection in sharing of syringes group was higher than the no-sharing group(P < 0.01). The trend of rate actives who never used condom in commercial sexual was down from 2005 to 2008(P < 0.01). In addition,HCV infection among drug users by injection was higher than that without injection(P < 0.01). The rate of HCV infection Compared with group, the rate of HIV infection in group was down from 2005 to 2008(P < 0.01). Conclusion:The risk really existed that bloodborne diseases,such as HIV and HCV,were transmitted and spread among drug users. It is necessary to enhance surveillance,education on the prevention of the diseases and behavioral intervention for drug users so as to reduce prevalence of bloodborne infectious diseases such as HIV and HCV.
