Objective:To study implement effect of PPM-DOTS tuberculosis control project in city. Methods:The indexes of case-detection and cure rate were compared with before the project and after the project. Results:After the project finished, the new smear positive notification rate increased from 1.87/100 000 before the project to 37.38/100,000. After the project,and the smear detecting rate increased from 42.08% to 73.91%. The cure rate of new smear positive tuberculosis and the retreatment smear positive tuberculosis increased from 50.00% to 92.32% and from 55.55% to 86.49%. Conclusion:Through the PPM-DOTS implemented, the new smear positive detecting rate was increased obviously and the treatment of new smear positive pulmonary tuberculosis was improved in city areas.
