Abstract:Objective: To observe the effects of perioperative psychological supporting therapy(PPST)for labor analgesia combined with patient controlled epidural analgesia(PCEA). Methods:120 parturients were randomly assigned to the PPST group,PCEA group, combined group or control group. The variables of analgesia, neonatal outcome, anxiety state, mode of delivery, delivery procedure, postpartum hemorrhage and oxytocin use were assessed. Results:The degree of anxiety in PPST group and combined group were relieved after PPST(P < 0.05). PPST group had a more effective analgesia than control group, but less efficacious than PCEA group and combined group(P < 0.05).With the similar analgesia between PCEA group and combined group,Combined group had a less dosage of PCEA(P < 0.05). Conclusion:Coadministration of PPST with PCEA could be beneficial for relieving labor analgesia and reducing the medication.
