    Abstract:

Objective: To evaluate the value of high-frequency ultrasonography(US)-guided 14- gauge(14G)core-needle biopsy(CNB)in diagnosing and typing lymphoma. Methods: Retrospective analysis was made on 30 patients diagnosed as lymphoma by pathology, and all of them had performed high-frequency US-guided 14G CNB. The locations of lesion involved neck,supra-clavicle,armpit,inguen,mammary glands, erect muscles, gluteal region, pars dorsalis and root of thigh. Pathology examination included hematoxylin and eosin staining and immunhistochemical assays. Results: Twenty-eight patients were diagnosed as non-hodgkin lymphoma(NHL)by high-frequency US-guided 14G CNB with accuracy of 93.3%(28/30),and two false-negative patients were found. We got the histologic subclassification in 26 cases of the 28 patients diagnosed as lymphomas on the basis of high-frequency US-guided 14G CNB. There were no complications of severity found in our study. Conclusion: The technique of high-frequency US-guided 14G CNB in diagnosing lymphoma has high diagnostic accuracy, high success rate, and low complication rate, and has important value in clinical application.
