    Abstract:

Objective: To analyze the prognostic factors of the gastric cancer patients after radical surgery. Methods: A total of 1 340 gastric cancer patients who received radical resection from Jan. 2005 to Dec. 2009 were enrolled. The data concerning clinicopathological factors and adjuvant chemotherapy were analyzed retrospectively. Results: Among 1 340 patients,384 cases died and 956 patients are still alive. The overall survival rate for 1,3,5 years are 87%,63%,52% respectively. The results of univariate and multivariate analysis indicated that age, tumor size, lymphatic metastasis, blood vessel and perineural involvement, depth of invasion, number of metastatic nodes,TNM stages were recognized as significant independent prognostic factors(P < 0.05). Conclusion: Age,tumor size, lymphatic metastasis, blood vessel and perineural involvement, depth of invasion, number of metastatic nodes and TNM stage can be helpful for prognosis and treatment regimen of gastric cancer patients who received radical resection .
