    Abstract:

Objective:To compare shear bond strengths and adhesion failure modes of three cements between titanium and noble alloy. Methods: Fifteen pairs of titanium and noble alloy samples were divided into three groups. Then three cements(Clearfil SA Cement,RelyX Unicem,3M glass ionomer cement) were applied on them respectively. The tensile bond strengths between titanium and alloy were determined after 24 h of water bath. Adhesion failure modes were observed under a stereomicroscope. Results: Clearfil SA Cement and RelyX Unicem had significantly higher shear bond strengths than 3M glass ionomer cement. There was no significant difference between Clearfil SA Cement and RelyX Unicem. Conclusion: Clearfil SA Cement and RelyX Unicem have higher shear bond strengths between titanium and noble alloy.
