Objective:This studt aims to explore the prognostic factors in elderly operable biliary tract cancer patients treated with radical resection. Methods:The clinicopathologic and follow-up data of 143 elderly patients(>65 years old)with biliary tract cancer treated with radical resection from January 2011 to December 2015 were analyzed retrospectively. Results:Univariate analysis showed that depth of tumor invasion, lymph node involvement, histological differentiation, lymphovascular invasion, resection margin, lactate dehydrogenase(LDH)level were correlated to recurrence and metastasis of biliary tract cancer after radical resection. Multivariate analysis showed that depth of tumor invasion, histological differentiation and LDH level were independent factors affecting the prognosis of elderly biliary tract cancer patients. Conclusion:The overall survival of elderly operable biliary tract cancer patients was correlated with tumor invasion, histological differentiation and LDH level before radical resection.
