To understand the pharmacists’ awareness of outpatient pharmaceutical care and the status quo of their work, the general situation was investigated by spot questionnaire survey among third-level hospitals selected by random sampling in Nanjing. The outpatient pharmacists already had a certain degree of awareness of the pharmaceutical care, but they still worked to guarantee and supply medicine due to the effect of various factors. In view of this, the authors suggested that the departments of government, medical institutions, doctors, pharmacists and patients should cooperate with each other, and especially, pharmacists need to continually improve their own quality to provide better professional services for different people.
