With the aging of population, China’s public health undertaking is facing new challenges. Under the environment of new medical reform, the authors made an analysis on needs of community-based rehabilitation among elderly people in Fuzhou city. The results showed that the current medical service in community couldn’t meet with rehabilitation needs of elderly people, medical resources must be integrated, the technical guidance for the rehabilitation team in community should be strengthened and private sector should be encouraged to develop community-based rehabilitation among elderly people while at the same time the government should increase the input.
