According to “The Performance Evaluation Criteria of Disease Prevention and Control Work” by Chinese Ministry of Health,the performance of disease prevention and control work in a district from 2008 to 2010 was assessed and the evaluation results were collected and analyzed. The results showed that disease prevention and control system and capabilities had been strengthened significantly,but the social environment,working basis,capacity building and the applied research still needed to be improved. Finally,appropriate suggestion was provided for the existing problems.
