    Abstract:

    Objective:To investigate the effect of nursing skills training to township hospitals (rural health centers) by the volunteer team named as the “Volunteer Team of Technical Assistance” set up by core nurses in the urban 2A hospitals. Methods:Trained by the “Volunteer Team of Technical Assistance”,the matron or key nursing personnel of rural health centers then taught their nursing staff by the skills they had learned. Results:The pass rate of “three basics” examination among the nursing staff of rural health centers was obviously increased. The difference was statistically significant (P < 0.01). Conclusion:The training by the “Volunteer Team of Technical Assistance” improved not only the skill of nursing staff of rural health centers,but also the quality of the volunteers themselves as well as the cooperation and communication among urban and rural hospitals.
