    Abstract:

    Objective:To investigate the level of nurse’s professional identity in Jiangsu province and its relationship with the work environment. Methods: Professional identity scale of nurse and work environment scale of nurse were used, and 360 nurses in 6 hospitals of Jiangsu province were analyzed with stratified random sampling method. Results:The scores of professional identity and work environment were 102.11 ± 14.96 and 108.65 ± 10.44. There were significant differences in age, department, seniority, position, marital status and hospital level. In addition to the “team”, the other 7 factors of work environment were significantly related to the each factors of professional identity. Conclusion:The professional identity of nurse in Jiangsu province shows a medium level. Strengthening the factors of the work environment such as “leadership and initiative”, “doctor-nurse relationship”, “control of the practice” can further improve the level of professional identity.
