To Jiangsu Institute of Medical Administration was the earliest predecessor of Nanjing Medical University. Chen Guofu,the senior statesman of Kuomintang established Jiangsu Institute of Medical Administration in 1934,and served as the first president. He carried out the new medical education and created new medical fusion of traditional and western medicine. During his administration, Jiangsu Institute of Medical Administration had made great progress in the idea of running a school, training system, management system and people’s livelihood services and so on, which became a unique medical college in the period of the Republic of China.
