    Abstract:

    The article presents a harmonious blending of classroom face-to-face instruction and online autonomous learning conducted on the online learning platform in teaching the English course for master candidates. This new way of teaching and learning puts more emphasis on learners’ participation in the learning process,adopts diversified learner assessment and therefore arouses learners’ motivation,enhances their English competence and helps to achieve learner autonomy. The author further argues for the importance of more training of learning strategy and frequent communication between learners and instructors for even effective teaching and learning.
