The government has been constantly committed to optimize the service model combining medical and nursing services，but there are still a series of difficulties in practice. This paper deconstructs the typical models of the combination of medical treatment and elderly care services，analyzes the practical difficulties in advancing each model， and clarifies the necessity and feasibility of family doctors’ embedding in the combination of medical care and nursing services. This paper studies the competencies of family doctors and elderly care services and constructs a theoretical model for family doctors to embed in the combination of medical care and elderly care. Finally，based on the above theoretical analysis，three paths are proposed to enhance the competency of family doctors: shape the development environment and conditions；optimize the integration of family doctors and elderly care services；explore the realization path of family doctors’embedding in the combination of medical treatment and elderly care services.
