It is necessary to deepen medical and health system reform by exploring and establishing the public hospital salary system which adapts to the characteristics of Chinese medical industry. The implementation of the annual salary system for the president is a significant component of the reform. By reviewing the related policy documents,this paper adopts literature review and comparative research to compare and analyze the primary practices and working characteristics of the annual salary system for presidents of Chinese public hospitals in terms of the target group,annual salary composition,funding source,annual salary level,verification mode,and annual salary payment. This paper also summarized the practical experience of the annual salary system for presidents in various regions,thus providing experience and reference for reforming the annual salary system of public hospital presidents in other regions.
