As the interactive influence of online platforms and the real - life environment on the dissemination of body image become an essential factor influencing young women’s negative body image,it is important to explore the formation mechanism of negative body image from the perspective of interactive information dissemination for the healthy development of their physical and mental health. This study selected 24 female university students and investigated the formation of negative body image of young women from the perspective of interactive information communication by applying the rooting theory. Based on the in - depth interview,we derived the formation factors open, axial and selective coding stage and passed the theoretical saturation test. Finally,we extracted 60 initial concepts,13 sub -categories and two main categories to form a mechanism model of young women’s negative body image from the perspective of interactive information communication while also exploring the influencing factors such as main categories, sub - categories, initial concepts and the logical relationship between them. The results provided a new theoretical basis for further research and definition of the structural dimensions and systems of female negative body image formation, which are practical and innovative approaches to the traditional model of body image influencing factors in an interactive information context.
