This study aimed to investigate the attitudes of junior medical students towards older adults and the factors that influence these attitudes. A survey was conducted among second-year medical undergraduates from three medical schools in Anhui. The survey included general demographic information，attitudes towards the elderly，doctor-patient communication tendencies，professional spirit and social science courses. The results showed a total score of（3.32±0.43）on the attitude towards the elderly scale. The lowest scores were observed in the dimension of providing medical services to older patients. Factors such as females，patient-centered communication tendencies，and good professionalism positively influenced attitudes toward the older adults. Improving doctor -patient communication skills and promoting professionalism are suggested to promote positive attitudes towards older adults among medical students. Medical schools should develop a comprehensive curriculum to increase the appeal of humanities courses in healthcare. Additionally，they should consider the impact of implicit courses on fostering positive attitudes towards older adults and encouraging medical students to participate in geriatric medical services.
