    Abstract:

This article adopts data from the Chinese General Social Survey(CGSS)2021 to establish a structural equation model to investigate the influence of lifestyle on the subjective well - being of older adults. The results show that lifestyle positively impacts the subjective well - being of the older adults, meaning those with a richer lifestyle get higher subjective well - being. Health status plays a positive mediating role in the relationship between lifestyle and subjective well - being,in which lifestyle can enhance the subjective well - being of older adults by improving their health status. In the first half of the mediation effect, class identity has a significant negative moderating effect, which indicates that the upper class, the weaker the influence of older adults’lifestyles on their health status. This paper proposes to focus on improving the lifestyle of older adults, enhancing the pension and medical service systems, and promoting the well-being of older adults.
