Based on the latest data covered in SCI Journal Citation Reports, a statistical analysis of the SCI-indexed scientific journals in 2011 was conducted in specific aspects including countries and regions, categories and subcategories, total cites, and impact factor(IF). And the citation rules of highly cited journals were studied. The results are valuable for the development of Chinese scientific journals and database appraisal systems.
