【Abstract】Objective：To explore the current situation of professional identity for physicians in Nanjing. Methods：To investigate the professional identity status of 1186 physicians from 27 medical institutions in Nanjing by questionnaires and interviews. Results：The recognition rate was relatively higher in the aspect of occupational cognition, behavior, value and emotion. The professional identity was statistically different by gender, education level, hospital grade(P<0.05). Conclusions: Specific m-anagement measures should be carried out according to the impact of different demographic variables on the professional identity. 【Key Words】 physicians; professional identity ; investigation
