Abstract: Objective: To promote the rational use of medical care expenses, control the rapid growth of medical costs, relieve the patients’ burdens, and cut medical service cost, we analyzed the effect of medical precious consumables on medical care expenses. Methods: the quantity, amount, unit price and growth rate of high-cost medical consumables were surveyed in the past 3-years. Results: the amount of high-cost medical consumables significantly increased in clinical practice. Suggestions: The price for high-cost medical consumables should be scientifically set up by the department of price, and financial supervision should be strengthened by administrative department of public health. Meanwhile, the specifications for theirs purchase, use and charges should be also established by hospital.
