By means of questionnaires among 240 Chinese medical students, this study identified 8 factors contributing to the demotivation of Chinese medical students in learning English. The results indicate that ‘the negative influence of classmates and extracurricular activities’ had the greatest effect on the demotivation of the subjects. Based on these findings, some solutions were proposed to avoid demotivation of Chinese medical students in learning English.
