Aim Investigate the influence of different property regimes on township health center operation. Method Using the typical sampling method, the paper investigates operation status of all township central and general health centers in two countries (districts) of Nantong. Result Private operation mechanism does obviously galvanizing impact on improving economic status of township hospitals. Township hospitals managed by government can implement medical care reform policy better. Cost of general health center managed by government is lower than private hospitals. But those general centers have a common problem of running inefficiently. Policy recommendation Insist on government-leading and strengthen government supervision to assure healthy development of township health centers.
