Objective To explore and summarize the anatomy teaching innovation for international students and improve teaching quality. Methods We carried out the discussion-based teaching in the class in which the theory lesson was discussed in groups, the practical lesson was organized and discussed in the ‘team leader responsibility system’, and the scoring system was also modified. Results The discussion-based teaching improved the students’ autonomous learning ability and got good results Conclusion The discussion-based teaching can effectively improve the anatomy teaching quality for the international students and deserves further exploration and promotion.
