Abstract:Objective: We took the example of medical university and non medical university in Nanjing to learn students’ recognition of body donation and their attitude towards it, to explore the reasons why there are too few body donations and to find the solutions. Methods: In the method of cluster sampling, we chose a sample of 303 students from two kinds universities for a questionnaire study and we used SPSS16.0 to clean up and analyze the data. Results:Students from medical university acquire more basic knowledge about body donation than those from non medical university. Students from two different universities have no significant differences on the attitude towards donating their own bodies. However, students majored in medicine tend to be more supportive of their close relatives’ body donation. Both of them have no significant differences on their views on the specific condition of body donator’s close relatives making their determinations. Conclusions:In order to increase the rate of body donation,we need to establish a rounded system of body donation, publicize body donation in more approaches and encourage universities to educate on death.
