Abstract:Objective: Investigating the status quo and needs of the medical staff working in primary health institutions concerning continuing medical education, studying ways of improvement in terms of the continuing medical education for medical staff in the primary health institution. Method: Giving out questionnaires to the staff working in the primary medical institutions situated in 13 cities who are selected at random, acquiring basic information, state of participating in continuing education and evaluation of the surveyed people. Results: The level of continuing medical education’s development is comparatively high and the degree of satisfaction for the education of the staff is also comparatively high. However, some modifications need to be done with respect to institutionalization, accessibility, content and form. Conclusion: Stepping up investment in continuing medical education and perfecting training mechanism of the continuing medical education for the medical staff in the primary health institutions.
