Abstract:Purpose: to explore the feasibility and effectiveness of PBL method in the teaching of English on medical humanities. Method: taking Nanjing Medical University as an example and referring to Stroller’s “ten steps”, the researchers applied PBL method in the teaching of English on medical humanities for five weeks. After that, students’ reflective diaries and questionnaires were collected. Result: PBL method is effective in promoting students’ comprehensive abilities on English reading, writing and speaking; PBL method is helpful for medicos to acquire the quality of scientific research. Reflection: the efficiency of students’ collaborative work needs to be enhanced; the timing of the PBL application should be reconsidered.
