Objective To analyze the implementation of the comprehensive reform of the medical price of public hospitals in Jiangsu province and the changes of the economic operation of the public hospitals before and after the reform. Methods To make a detailed analysis on the implementation of the price adjustment of public hospitals, the hospital economic operation, the medical expenses control, and the hospital compensation. Results After the comprehensive reform of pharmaceutical prices, the economic operation of public hospitals is stable, and the medical income structure is gradually optimized, the price adjustment to cancel the drug addition to the compensation ratio is low. Conclusion The effect of the reform in line with expectations, but as soon as possible to the public hospital compensation, public hospitals need to strengthen its cost management, the next step should be to build a set of long-term medical service price dynamic adjustment mechanism as soon as possible, to promote the healthy and sustainable development of public hospitals.
