    我国相当部分科研人员就英文学术写作而言可称之为学徒作者,他们的英文论文撰写习惯往往是先写汉语,然后再基于汉语进行机械对等英译。事实上,他们的汉语科研论文英译前译者往往须对汉语原文进行改写, 不能机械对译。改写的客观因素很多,如汉语原文表述本身存在问题。本文关注的是一类特殊的具有迷惑性的汉语原文:即汉语原文的语言和结构在一般汉语读者的认可范围之内,但如果直接对译成英文则不能被英文读者接受。本文通过医学领域实例,从英汉思维语言差异和国际通行的科研论文篇章结构惯例两个层面,阐述了对部分中国科研人员医学论文进行译前改写的必要性;介绍了译前改写的基本策略要点,为国内医学乃至其它领域的相当部分学术写作学徒作者可能会进行的科研论文译前改写实践活动提供操作依据;为科研论文翻译与写作课提供新的教学内容和思路。

    Abstract:

    Abstract: Quite a lot of domestic researchers usually write the Chinese research paper first and then literally translate it into English. These researchers are apprentice writers in terms of English research paper writing. In fact, revising the original Chinese research paper before translating it into English is very necessary and this is due to many objective factors, among which is flawed source text in Chinese. This article focuses on a special Chinese source text: its language and structure is considered acceptable by Chinese readers; but if translated literally into English, they would be regarded as unacceptable by English readers. In terms of differences in thought pattern and language between Chinese and English as well as international convention in discourse structure of research papers, this article elucidates the necessity of revising the original Chinese research paper before it is translated into English. The present study also summarizes the primary strategies of pre-translation revising so as to provide guidelines for pre-translation revising practice and offers new teaching content for research paper translation and writing course for Chinese apprentice writers in the medical field, or even in other scientific fields.
