Abstract：Objective：Data envelopment analysis (DEA) was used to evaluate the efficiency of tertiary hospitals in Jiangsu province. The scientific suggestions for the planning and development of tertiary hospitals in the province were put forward. Methods：The data envelopment analysis of data envelopment analysis in the three level hospitals in Jiangsu was used to calculate the efficiency and scale of income, analyze the projection values of the non effective decision making units, and compare the differences in the efficiency of different types of three level hospitals. Tobit regression was applied to analyze the influencing factors. Results: The numbers of the effective hospitals was 19 of the 60 tertiary hospitals. The percentage was 31.67%. 15 of the total effective hospitals in South of Jiangsu were 35.7%, the effective hospitals in Jiangsu Province were 2, the effective rates were 20%, the effective hospitals in Northern Jiangsu were 2, and the effective rates were 25%. Conclusion: the efficiency of tertiary hospitals in Jiangsu Province was not high, most of the hospitals were in the scale effect of decreasing state, according to the functions of its own DEA analysis results and combined with the functionality of hospital, adjusted to improve the efficiency.
