Abstract:Objective: To understand the current situation of mobile phone dependence of medical university students, explore the relationship between mobile phone dependence and social support, and provide scientific basis for the formulation of prevention and intervention measures. Method: According to the principle of stratified random sampling, 3400 medical university students were investigated by using mobile phone dependence scale and social support assessment scale. Result: The average degree of mobile phone dependence of medical university students is between infrequent occurrence and occasional occurrence. There were significant score difference in the social support(F = 4.353, p﹤0.05), especially the objective support (F = 13.277, p﹤0.001) and very significant negative correlation between the mobile phone dependence and the social support (p﹤0.01). Conclusion: It is common for medical university students to rely on mobile phones, which is closely related to the social support.Colleges and universities can help students overcome mobile phone dependence by enhancing student perception, strengthening professional identity, improving interpersonal communication, and improving the social support environment.
