This paper makes a statistical analysis of patents in Nanjing Medical University and some affiliated hospitals located in nanjing from January 2000 to July 2017 by SPSS22.0 statistical software. The emphases are on sorting out and analyzing the authorized patents. The results show that after 2012, the overall situation of patents has been greatly improved, school patents and hospital patents show different characteristics, but the patent layout, cooperative applications, comprehensive management and other aspects need to be improved. By strengthening patent awareness, encouraging innovation and strengthening protection, focusing on personnel specialization, building a team of university patent talents, setting up interdisciplinary teams, and conducting research on translational medicine, we can improve the quality and quantity of patents, effectively implement authorized patents, and truly bring into play the social and economic value of patents.
