Abstract:Prejudice is the negative judgment formed by individuals who base on incorrect or insufficient information and preconceived opinions about others. Prejudice will make people have one-sided or wrong cognition about a group when it generalizes into a group. This article explains the psychological mechanism of doctor-patient prejudice from the perspectives of negative stereotype, expectation discrepancy and attribution bias, basing on these aspects to discuss the negative influence of prejudice on doctor-patient relationship. In the future, researchers can explore more empirical studies relate to doctor-patient relationship from the perspective of prejudice; but it is more significant to propose some strategies base on social reality to reduce doctor-patient prejudice.
