Abstract:According to the data from China Family Panel Studies 2016, the OLS model and the binary logistic regression model were used for analysis, in order to explore the Impact of living arrangement on the depression of older adults and the mediation of intergenerational support in the relationship between the two. The results show that compared with older adults who live alone, the depression levels of those living with children (B = -1.963, P <0.01) and those living with non-children both were lower (B = -1.691, P <0.05).Older adults who receive housework support have higher levels of depression(P<0.05), and those with high frequency of children have lower levels of depression(P<0.05). Therefore, it can be concluded that living arrangement has a significant effect on the depression, and intergenerational support plays a partial mediation between the way of living arrangement and depression.
