Abstract:The self-designed online questionnaire was used to investigate the effect of family support on life quality and medical assistance in elderly. It was found that the elderly included in the survey had a moderate life quality, and better family support and medical assistance. There is a positive correlation of life quality to medical assistance and family support. However, the shrinking of family size and rapid population aging pose challenges to family pensions, and families are increasingly dependent on external support. Family support is important to life quality, mental health, treatment of disease and rehabilitation in elderly, but the security system which was based on “Community pension, combination of community pension and medical care” should be the general trend.
