Abstract:With the official implementation of "two-children in China from 2016, the reproductive rights have been gradually released, and more and more senior couples hope to give birth to a healthy next generation with the aid of modern medical technology. However, the genetic counseling industry in China, which is responsible for interpreting the relationship between modern genetic testing results and diseases, has got a late start and a low developing rate. So far, there is no genetic counselor occupation certified by the organs of state, nor is there a national unified standard genetic counseling training and classification service system, thus easily leading to contract disputes and even infringements in the corresponding medical services. In this paper, based on the present status and existing problems, we intend to discuss the subject rights, industry norms and counseling models of genetic counseling services in China from rule-of-law aspect, in order to perform a legal probe into the future described by the national 13th Five-Year Plan for Science and Technology Innovation, where numerous precision medicine will be used in the field of population health.
