Since December 2019, the epidemic of corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Wuhan, Hubei has progressed rapidly. Social organizations have played an important role in the prevention and control of COVID-19 as a supplementary force of the government. On the basis of explaining the advantages of social organizations, this article analyzes their specific ways to participate in the prevention and control of the epidemic. It also puts forward suggestions for the participation of social organizations in the control the outbreaks of novel coronavirus pneumonia, including improving the institutional security system, regulating the participation and cooperation mechanism, improving the efficiency of official social organizations, strengthening social publicity, optimizing the disclosure of information, and enhancing the organization's own capabilities. And provide references for the theory and practice of social organizations participating in emergency management.
