The remarkable results achieved in the prevention and treatment of new coronary pneumonia(NCP) have once again demonstrated the value of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) in the prevention and treatment of epidemic diseases and the important role played by TCM in coping with public health emergencies, but at the same time, it also exposed that traditional Chinese medicine to participate in public health emergencies still face many problems. Therefore, by reviewing the prevention and treatment of NCP with TCM, it is enlightened that it is necessary to explicitly incorporate TCM into the system, improve the public health emergency management system; optimize the collaboration between clinical research and diagnosis and treatment of TCM, and improve the diagnosis and treatment system of TCM and establish the examination and approval system of TCM; strengthen publicity and treat TCM rationally.
