With the global outbreak of COVID-19, medical colleges and universities in China and the United States have completely stopped all face-to-face teaching activities. Online network teaching was still in the initial stage of exploration in China. The author summarized the online teaching content, methods and applications in American medical colleges and universities through the observations during the visit to Harvard Medical School, in order to think about how to open Internet teaching in Chinese medical colleges and universities. This is a transformation, as well as an opportunity which is likely to open a new pattern of telemedicine and promote the comprehensive opening of online education mode in Chinese medical education. It may be a new time to start the field of medical internet education to sum up experience in difficulties and break through exploration in practice.
