The high-level medical talents continue to grow and improve in China after implementing the strategy of rejuvenating the country through science and education for 25 years. However, under the COVID-19 outbreak in December 2019, the shortage of medical talents has gradually become more prominent. This study analyzes the current status and existing problems of high-level medical talents in the field of medicine, and proposes countermeasures and suggestions to strengthen and improve the construction of high-level medical talents under the epidemic situation. Combined with the new situation of the COVID-19, we will actively explore the construction of high-level medical talents by continuously strengthening ideological guidance, talent peak construction, accurate talent introduction, and talent evaluation, with a view to providing a reference for building a high-level medical talent team that can actively respond to public health emergencies.
