Research on the present situation and demand of professional training of community health staff working in the community in Pukou District, Nanjing City

This study aims to investigate the present situation and demand of professional training of community health staff working in the community in Pukou district of Nanjing City. A questionnaire survey was conducted among 98 medical staff working in the community health services. More than 90% of primary health care workers are general practitioners, more than 70% of them have secondary education level or below, and need high demand for business training. The service ability of community health staff working in the community rarely meet the needs of the work at present. To improve the operational capability of community health staff working in the community should be by means of improvement of the numbers of professionals personnel (including public health and relevant clinical professionals) and targeted training according to the actual work needs.
