Abstract:With the gradual deepening of the aging process in China, its empty nest, aging, chronic disease and other characteristics have become increasingly prominent. The pressure of pension issues is becoming increasingly severe. The demand for the elderly care is growing yet the supply is seriously insufficient. In order to explore the deep structural contradiction of the imbalance between demand and supply of pension, we took Jiangsu Province as an example to carry out a questionnaire survey on the pension demand of urban residents. Thus to clarify the current situation of the elderly care needs of residents and the differences between the elderly care needs of different groups, and combined the results with the current states of pension supply in Jiangsu Province, conduct demand-oriented research on the supply-demand balance of pension services, thereby achieving knowledge of the specific indicators and internal causes of supply-demand imbalance. Finally, on this basis, we put forward some opinions and suggestions, such as updating the concept of elderly care supply, improving the level of elderly care supply and the diversity of elderly care services, promoting the development of community home-based elderly care model, establishing a standardized elderly care community, and carrying out the aging transformation of elderly care communities and families.
