Abstract:This study aims to evaluate the current status of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) life quality among elderly people in Sichuan Province and explore its influencing factors. The research was conducted in July 2024 using a random number table method for quota sampling in eight districts (counties) of Sichuan Province, incorporating a total of 1119 samples. The investigation was carried out through the TCM Life Quality Evaluation Scale (CQ-11D), the Simplified 30-Item TCM Constitution Scale, the Social Support Rating Scale (SSRS), and a self-compiled questionnaire based on the five dimensions of the Health Ecology Model (HEM). The health level of the elderly was assessed using TCM health utility values. The results showed that the average health utility value of the elderly in Sichuan Province was 0.837, with the main physical health issues being sleep quality (22.1%), bowel movements (16.3%), and pain (12.1%). Tobit regression analysis indicated that age, marital status, education level, number of chronic diseases, number of childhood adversities, number of children, level of social support, taste preferences, medical insurance status, living arrangement, and TCM constitution significantly influenced the TCM life quality of the elderly (P<0.05). Multiple linear regression further revealed that different types of chronic diseases, TCM constitution types, and dimensions of social support had varying impacts on the TCM life quality of the elderly. The study concluded that the level of TCM life quality among the elderly in Sichuan Province needs to be improved. It is recommended that healthcare professionals develop targeted intervention measures based on the influencing factors to enhance the TCM life quality of the elderly and promote healthy aging.
